Rumbia Fest

6 - 8 July 2007 Venue: Kuala Penyu, Sabah (Tel: 6088-232 121) This annual event in the Kuala Penyu district showcases the various uses of sago palm, an important item for the Dusun Tatana and Bisaya communities. Visitors are presented with demonstration of sago processing and making of ‘atap rumbia’ (palm roof). Sample the ‘ambuyat’, a traditional porridge with sago starch. Visitors can also sample a variety of tasty local fruits and enjoy local cuisine.
