Unique Discoveries – Peninsular (West Coast) – 8D/7N

Day 1:  Arrive at Kuala Lumpur / Kuala Selangor - Point A

Lunch and Dinner provided

Upon arrival, you will meet our representative and the Unique Discoveries commences.

For our first destination, we will transfer to Kuala Selangor, with an en-route lunch stop at Ijok for some yummy ‘Beggars Chicken’, a Chinese dish that dates back centuries. Traditionally mixed with herbs, wrapped in clay and baked in the ground, be prepared for a wonderful feast, with pork, duck and rice, also prepared this way at the restaurant. After lunch, upon arriving in Kuala Selangor, we will take a walk up Melawati Hill for a panoramic view of the surrounding area and to learn more about this Fort that was used by the Selangor Sultanate and Dutch in the 18th. One of the biggest attractions of Kuala Selangor is the 'kelip-kelip' or the fireflies. Fireflies live a natural phenomenon; several colonies of fireflies live and mate on the Berembang trees along Selangor River.

Day 2:  Kuala Selangor / Ipoh / Taiping / Kuala Kangsar- Point B

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner provided

After breakfast, we check-out and transfer overland to Ipoh, also known as the Bougainvillea City. We will start the tour by visiting the Railway Station (with sight of Ipoh Tree), Birch Memorial Clock Tower, City Hall & High court, Ipoh Club, Tun Razak Library. After lunch, we will continue the tour by visiting St Michael Institution, Indian Muslim Sheikh Adam Mosque, Jalan Bandar Timah & Little India. We then transfer to Perak Museum, located in Taiping. It is home to the country's oldest museum. It was built in 1883 and has impressive displays on zoology, history, economy and ethnology. We then transfer to Kuala Kangsar. Upon arrival, we will proceed to check-in to hotel. After dinner, you are free at your own leisure.

Day 3:  Kuala Kangsar / Penang- Point C

After breakfast, we proceed to explore Kuala Kangsar , a 150-year old Royal town that is an intriguing mixture of heritage, culture and old world charm. History buffs can begin their heritage trail by taking a nostalgic walk up Bukit Chandan.  Breathe in the clean fresh air and enjoy the scenic views of Sungai Perak while exploring historical buildings such as the Malay College and Clifford School (both over 100 years old), the breathtaking Masjid Ubudiah, the royal palace Istana Iskandariah and the picturesque Galeri Sultan Azlan Shah.   Also not to be missed is one of the two oldest rubber trees in Malaysia.  It originated from nine seedlings brought from Brazil by an English botanist in 1877 and is still thriving. Later,we transfer overland to Penang, the “Pearl of the Orient”. Upon arrival, we will proceed to enjoy a romantic ride and leisure stroll in the city of Georgetown. Discover how a number of multi-cultured people can live harmoniously together in this city. The highlights are Fort Cornwallis, Weld Quay, Khoo Kongsi, Street of Harmony, Little India and Penang Peranakan Mansion. We will head back to check-in and you will be free at your own leisure.

Day 4:  Penang

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner provided

After breakfast, we will embark on to a mesmerizing and captivating Penang Round Island Tour.

If seeing the best in one place is your thing, this tour will take you to the state’s most famous sights. Experience a traditional funicular train ride to the Goddess of Mercy Statue from Kek Lok Si Temple, have a visual feast at Botanical Gardens and encounter tortoises at the pond. Other stops are at the Fishing Village, Malay Village and Snake Temple. Throughout the journey, you’ll pass by Batu Feringghi, a winding road where many beach resorts are located, Teluk Bahang, local fruit stalls and Penang Bridge. You will never get enough of Penang, unless you were born there!

Day 5:  Penang / Kuala Muda / Alor Setar - Point D

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner provided

After breakfast, we check-out and proceed to our next destination, Kuala Muda in Kedah (approximately 1-hour drive). We start our journey by visiting Bisik Hall (Whispering Hall) located in Kuala Muda. Here, we hope to catch the unique practice of fish buyers and sellers whispering to each other as a form of fish auctioning. After lunch, we begin the tour of The Bujang Valley or Lembah Bujang. Once the site of the Srivijaya Empire, an ancient Malay kingdom dating back from the first few centuries to the 12th century, it is the richest archaeological area in Malaysia. More than 50 ancient Hindu or Buddhist temples, called ‘candis’, have also been unearthed, adding to the historical spirituality of the site. After lunch, we will proceed to the Paddy Museum in Alor Setar. The state of Kedah is known as the Rice Bowl state due to its important contribution in providing a large percentage of Malaysian’s staple food. For dinner, we proceed to a revolving restaurant at the top of Menara Alor Setar. Sitting at 94 meters above ground, this communications and viewing tower offers a spectacular view of Alor Star, Butterworth and you can even see Thailand from its position in the centre of town. We head back to the hotel to check-in and the rest of the day will be free at your own leisure.

Day 6:  Alor Setar / Langkawi - Point E

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner provided

After breakfast, we check-out and proceed by ferry to our perfect getaway, Langkawi Island (approximately 1-hour 15-mins cruise).  We will transfer to Kuala Perlis before routing to the island. Upon arrival, you will proceed to check-in to the selected hotel. Dubbed the 'Jewel of Kedah', Langkawi is an archipelago of 104 islands in the Andaman Sea, some 30-km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. The largest of these islands is called Langkawi Island. The other islands in this group are Island of Pregnant Maiden (Pulau Dayang Bunting), Lion Island (Pulau Singa Besar) and Beras Basah Island. The smallest of these islands are atolls roughly the size of an ordinary house! After lunch, experience the relaxing yet exciting feeling as you cruise on the Andaman Sea while observing the beautiful sunset.

Day 7:  Langkawi

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner provided

After breakfast, transfer from hotel to Jetty to take the 20-mins boat ride to Pulau Dayang Bunting (Lake of the Pregnant Lady). Here, you can enjoy the retreats and beach activities designed naturally for entertainment and relaxation purposes. You will enjoy a 15-mins walk to reach the lake from the entrance. The freshwater lake found here is the largest in Langkawi, which carries many legends. It is also believed that the magical waters of the lake will grant the wishes of hopeful barrens. Next, proceed for eagle feeding before heading to the Pulau Beras Basah for a swim or to snorkel. You can also enjoy water sports activities or simply soak up the sun on this fine sandy beach. Head back and to rest while being free at your own leisure.

Day 8:  Langkawi

Breakfast provided

Free at own leisure till departure pick up, where you will be transferred to the airport / jetty for your onward destination.
