Amazing Discoveries – Combination (Heritage & Adventure) – 10D/9N

Day 1: Arrive at Kuala Lumpur - Point A

Upon arrival, you will meet our representative and the Discover KL Tour commences.

The tour begins with a stop at The Independence Square, once the main British parade & cricket ground. Here, learn about the single-phase construction of Mughal-style colonial public buildings, that includes the famous Sultan Abdul Samad Building.

Later we drive by the Old Railway Station followed by a photo stop of The Petronas Twin Towers. We will then visit Batu Caves, famous for its celebrated limestone cave temple as well as the world’s tallest statue of Murugan, a Hindu deity. Moving forward, we will visit the Royal Selangor Pewter Visitors Centre. Among the highlights at the centre: Pewter Museum, two-storey high replica of the Petronas Twin, the Chamber of Chimes, Hall of Finishes and Giant Weighing Scale. The Factory Tour shows ‘live’ different pewter production processes - casting, filing, polishing, soldering, hammering and engraving, as well as the intricacies of making Selberan’s fine jewelry. You will then transfer back to hotel after the tour.

Day 2: Kuala Lumpur

Breakfast and Lunch provided

The tour highlights the old and the modern that makes this city vibrant. We will begin with a city train ride to Masjid Jamek, the meeting of two rivers where early settlement of Kuala Lumpur began.

From here, you will trail along heritage walk on foot, admiring the centuries-old colonial buildings, minarets, spires and arches pampered with sights to behold. Be the judge where you will be able to taste and witness the making of our typical local food - roti canai (a type of flatbread) and teh tarik (literally, ‘pulled tea’, a frothy tea concoction). Some of the other highlights include: Jalan Masjid India (Indian Mosque Street), The Colonial Core, Medan Pasar (Old Market Square), Central Market, Sin Sze Si Ya Temple (Built by the Chinese leader Yap Ah Loy in the 19th century), Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, Chinatown and Chan She Shu Yuen Clan House.

Day 3:  Kuala Lumpur / Cameron Highlands - Point B

Breakfast and Dinner provided

After breakfast, we check-out and transfer overland to enchanting Cameron Highlands (an approximate 5 hours drive). Upon arrival, we will proceed with the Discover Cameron Tour.

You will definitely enjoy the cool climate it has to offer (approximately 19-21°C). This tour will take you to the Tea Plantation and Factory to witness the processing of black tea and later to sample various kind of tea at the teahouse.  We will also have the opportunity to visit the Orang Asli Hut as well as the Butterfly Farm. Lunch will be at interval. Finally, we will proceed to check-in to the resort, you can then rest & relax. Steamboat Dinner will be served in the evening in resort.

Day 4:  Cameron Highlands / Penang – Point C

Breakfast and Afternoon Tea provided

After breakfast, we check-out and transfer overland to the enchanting ‘Pearl of the Orient’. Penang is a fascinating fusion of the East and West while retaining its traditions and old world charm. These are reflected in its harmonious multiracial populace and well-preserved heritage buildings which led to George Town being accorded in the listing as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site recently. (approximately 3.5-hours drive). Among the highlights of this tour: Batu Ferringhi (drive by), Teluk Bahang (drive pass), Fishing Village, Fruit Stalls (drive by), Malay Village, Snake Temple, Penang Bridge (drive by) and Georgetown (drive pass). If time permits, a visit to a local product outlet may be included. All entrance fees are included.

Towards late afternoon, we will enjoy a romantic trishaw ride in the city of Georgetown. Discover how a number of multi-cultured people can live harmoniously together in this city. Among the highlights of this tour: Trishaw ride to Fort Cornwallis (outside view), Weld Quay (Chew Jetty), Khoo Kongsi, Street of Harmony, Little India (Mahamariamman Temple), Pinang Peranakan Mansion and we will also enjoy an afternoon tea at E & O Hotel.

Day 5:  Penang

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner provided

After breakfast, head on to a mesmerizing and captivating ride up via funicular train to the Penang Hill which offers a scenic view of Penang. Later we will visit one of the largest temple in South East Asia and a tortoise sanctuary that is located within the vicinity. Towards the evening, we explore Georgetown like you have never experienced before and have your meal at the 'one and only' restaurant in Penang that boasts of breathtaking night views of Georgetown. You can try the Wantan Noodle, Hokkien Noodle and Char Kuew Toew - these are famous noodle dishes. You will never get enough of Penang, unless you were born there! (Please note that the places of interest or the dishes rendered may vary and subjected to change due to unavailable).

Day 6:  Penang / Kota Kinabalu - Point D

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner provided

After breakfast, we will embark on a fascinating journey by flight to the ‘Land Below the Wind’. Upon arrival, you will meet our representative and the Discover Kota Kinabalu Tour commences

The tour begins at Kota Kinabalu also known as the ‘Land Below the Wind’ where this is a phenomenal wonderland to set foot upon. Formerly known as Jesselton which is the capital of Sabah, it is where the early beginnings of the humble civilization of Malaysia flourished once upon. Among the highlights of the tour are Signal Hill, Atkinson Clock, Sabah Foundation building, City Mosque and the local Handicraft Market. You will be transferred back to hotel after the tour. The rest of the day will be free at your own leisure.

Day 7:  Kota Kinabalu / Kinabalu Park - Point E

Shortly after breakfast, we will transfer overland to Kinabalu National Park along the Crocker Range where the beauty of the scenery is breathtaking (an approximate 2 hours drive).

We will travel through paddy fields and villages of the Dusunic people over to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu elevating at 1,800 meters above sea level. Upon arrival, proceed for lunch at Balsam Restaurant before a guided walk tour to the Mountain Garden; home of the flora and fauna. We will come across rare orchids, carnivorous pitcher plants, ferns and types of rhododendrons. Many birds and small insects can be found too. You can also enjoy a short walk to one of the trails of the Mt. Kinabalu.

Day 8:  Kinabalu Park / Sukau - Point F

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner provided

After breakfast, we will proceed to our next destination, Sukau. Sabah’s longest river and Malaysia’s second longest river in Sukau, is one of the most exciting and easily accessible places to explore the rich biodiversity of Sabah. (an approximate 5 hours drive). Upon arrival, check-in at the Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. After lunch, cruise up river to Sukau village in search of the elusive Endemic Proboscis Monkeys together with birds and other wildlife. Towards evening, you can take the river cruise with electric motor to Menanggul River, a small tributary of the Kinabatangan. You will then be transferred back. Dinner will be served. You can then rest & relax.

Day 9:  Sukau

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner provided

Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills. We will then proceed overland to Gomantong Cave. Explore the largest bird's nest cave in Sabah, home to millions of bats and swiflets. Nest of the swiflets are collected for the famous delicacy - bird's nest soup.

We continue our overland journey to Lahad Datu town, followed by overland journey on gravel road to Borneo Rainforest Lodge (an approximate 2.5 hours drive). The Lodge is home to full range of Sabah’s lowland wildlife, including the rare Sumatran Rhinoceros, Orang Utans and wild boars.  Once there, we will proceed to check-in to the lodge, you can then rest & relax.

After lunch, we will take the Jungle Trek that will give you an introduction to the forest through Nature Trails and Canopy Walkways. Dinner will be served.  After dinner, a slide show presentation is available and if weather permits, one can go spotlighting in open-air jeep to view some unique nocturnal animals. 

Overnight: Borneo Rainforest Lodge (Deluxe Chalet)

Day 10:  Sukau

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner provided

Free at own leisure till departure pick up, where you will be transferred to Lahad Datu for your onward destination. (Option for beach stays: Kota Kinabalu, Lankayan Island, Pom Pom Island, Mataking Island, Mabul Island, Sipadan-Kapalai, etc)
