Set amidst the verdant greenery of Labrador Nature Park, Villa Samadhi Singapore is a sanctuary of calm hidden away from the bustle of the city. Housed in a 1920s colonial garrison, the 20-room boutique hotel was designed to be reflective of its heritage and history. Unveiled on January 5, 2017, the building was meticulously restored over a period of three years and exudes an old Malayan charm, evocative of the romance of the bygone era. Rich in heritage and biodiversity, the 22-hectare Labrador Nature Reserve was once an enclave of the British Military. From a machine gun post to secret tunnels constructed in the late 1880s, a treasure trove of artifacts are still dotted around the reserve waiting to be discovered. The building that Villa Samadhi is housed within was constructed during the nation’s colonial days and once housed the army’s distinguished officials. Today, it is a haven for those seeking respite from the urban pace.
