Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa (Re-opening in Oct 2006)

At an estimated cost of RM100 million, the Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts redevelopment and repositioning programme for this iconic 33-year-old resort in Penang is one of the most ambitious ever seen in the region.

With less than six months to go, all electrical and infrastructure works have been completed and the focus is now on the interiors as well as landscaping of the sprawling 30-acre garden grounds.

The resort will mark the debut of the Shangri-La Group's exclusive CHI spa brand in Malaysia. An entire CHI spa village covering 46,500 square feet with eleven treatment villas and yoga studio built under soaring centuries-old rain trees, exude a serene sense of peace and solitude.

Other facilities include a state-of-the-art Health Club, a Par 3 Executive Golf course, a 26-metre spa pool and spacious Rasa Premier Rooms with bath feature on the balcony and private butler service.
